Amy Schumer has a health condition called Cushing syndrome. This happens when there’s too much stress hormone, cortisol, in the body for a long time. Symptoms can include gaining weight, high blood pressure, and weaker bones. Treatment can include medicine, radiation, or surgery.

Amy, who is 42 years old, talked about her diagnosis in Jessica Yellin’s newsletter. She noticed her face looked puffy during the promo tour for her show, “Life & Beth”. After fans started asking questions, she decided to talk about it.

She said she found out about her condition while promoting her show. She had to spend a lot of time in MRI machines and getting blood tests. She worried about not being there for her son. But she felt relieved when she learned her Cushing syndrome would go away on its own.

Amy said it was helpful when people on the internet commented on her appearance. It made her realize something was wrong.

She explained why she shared her health information. She wants to support women’s health. She has seen and experienced body shaming and criticism for a long time. She wants women to love themselves and take care of their health, even when it’s hard.

Amy believes her experience shows that you never know what someone else is going through. She thinks we should all be kinder to each other and ourselves.

Amy mentioned her health issues in a post on Instagram. She talked about having endometriosis, which is a disease that affects women. She said there are some medical and hormonal problems she’s dealing with, but overall, she’s okay.
