“From Fan Mail to Marriage”: The Incredible Love Story of Willie Aames and Winnie Hung

Winnie Hung started sending fan mail to Willie Aames, a famous actor from the 80s, when she was a kid. She kept sending him letters for over 30 years, and now they’re married! Their amazing love story is going to be a movie on the Hallmark Channel!

When Willie first met Winnie, he fell in love with her immediately. He felt like he had known her forever. And it all started with a letter.

Willie Aames was in TV shows like Gunsmoke, Adam-12, Eight is Enough, and Charles In Charge. Winnie had been a fan for years. So she wrote him a letter, and Willie called her.

At first, Winnie didn’t believe it was really Willie Aames and hung up on him!

“We started chatting and became pen pals for 30 years. We never met but chatted on the phone a few times. We’d catch up, lose track, catch up, and lose track,” Willie said.

Over the years, they stayed friends. But Willie hit a rough patch. He lost his job, had problems with drinking, and lost his way. He even ended up without a home.

“When I started my life over at 48, I had to learn everything new again. I had to learn who I was again,” he said. He found work on a cruise ship and finally met Winnie in person.

They decided to meet during a stop in Vancouver. They both felt like it was meant to be.

“After our first date, I couldn’t stop thinking about Winnie. So I flew back to Canada and told her I was going to marry her,” Willie said.

With Winnie’s family’s approval, they got married. Their story is perfect for a Hollywood movie, and now they’re making one for the Hallmark channel!

Even though they’ve been married for a while, they still can’t believe how lucky they are. “We still look at each other and say, ‘I can’t believe it’s you. You’re the one,'” Winnie said.

Their story shows that it’s never too late to find love. After Willie found faith, his life changed for the better. He’s grateful to God for bringing Winnie into his life.

“I’ve never been happier. I’ve never felt better about life and opportunity,” Willie said. “I met her when I had learned enough in my life to not be seeking after something, so the most natural thing happened.”

“It’s never too late to find love,” Winnie said. It’s never too late to start over and let God fill your life with love and family.
