Jimmy Buffett, the famous singer, passed away recently. He had been fighting a rare type of skin cancer called Merkel Cell Skin Cancer for four years. This cancer forms in the skin and can be caused by too much sun exposure and having a weak immune system.

Buffett continued to perform concerts even while receiving treatment for cancer. His last show was in Rhode Island in early July. He died peacefully on September 1 at his home in Sag Harbor, Long Island, at the age of 76.
He was surrounded by his family, friends, music, and dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Slagsvol, and their three children, Savannah, Sarah, and Cameron.
