Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are going down memory lane.
Almost 28 years after they got married, the couple will revisit the Chapel of the Bells, where they got married in Las Vegas. They got married there just a year after meeting on the set of All My Children.
This will happen when their show, Live with Kelly and Mark, goes to Las Vegas to record for a week.
“We’re going back there,” Consuelos, 52, tells PEOPLE exclusively, calling the place “very special” for him and his wife. “We always try to visit when we’re in town, but this time, we’ll take the viewers inside, where it all happened.”
The couple has three kids – Michael, 26, Joaquin, 21, and Lola, 22. They got married on May 1, 1996. The wedding, including airfare, cost them $179.
“It was really romantic,” Ripa, 53, says. “We cherish those memories. It’s been 28 years, and we still remember every minute of it. It was like two minutes!”
“We decided to elope because we had two days off in a row,” Ripa adds. “We didn’t want a big wedding. The winter of ’96 had been really cold, so we thought, ‘Let’s go to Vegas!'”
They chose the Chapel of the Bells on a whim.
“We checked into the hotel and looked up ‘Wedding Chapels’ in the Yellow Pages,” Consuelos recalls. “Chapel of the Bells had a big ad. They had times available at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.”

“I wanted to make sure she didn’t get cold feet,” Consuelos teases.
“I just wanted to shave my legs and put on some mascara!” Ripa jokes.
They will record episodes of Live with Kelly and Mark from the BleauLive Theater at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The hotel is known for its luxury rooms, restaurants, pools, nightlife, and spa.
“We’re excited to show our viewers around the hotel,” Ripa says. “We’ll give a tour of the VIP suites, spa, and try out the food.”
Fans can get special room rates and tickets to the show by visiting the hotel’s website. Guests on the show include Sheryl Lee Ralph, Howie Mandel, Jim Gaffigan, Lionel Richie, Rogue, REO Speedwagon, Carrot Top, Steve Aoki, Lil Jon, and DJ Pauly D.
