Leonardo DiCaprio is known for being generous, especially according to Ed Zwick, the director of Blood Diamond.
In his new book, Zwick recalls how he found out that DiCaprio had given money to build a well in a village where they filmed. DiCaprio wanted to leave the place better than they found it.
Zwick praises DiCaprio for his actions, saying that he lives by his words.
During the filming of Blood Diamond in Mozambique and South Africa, DiCaprio often helped out the local communities. His generosity became a rule for the studio.
DiCaprio is also known for his environmental activism, partnering with Jeff Bezos to save the Amazon rainforest with a $200 million fund.
