Meet the 12-year-old girl with an IQ greater than Einstein and Hawking

Timea Petrescu, a 12-year-old student from Craiova who now lives in London with her parents, was recently welcomed into Mensa, an organization for persons with extremely high levels of intellect, after scoring 162 on an IQ test.

Timea was four years old when the Petrescus left Romania. They decided on the United Kingdom. “When the little girl was two years old and studying with her grandfather, she urged him to give her increasingly challenging exercises.” I believe she inherited his ability; he is an excellent mathematician. “We chose to leave the nation without worrying about money, solely for the sake of our daughter’s future,” said Timea’s mother, Florentina Petrescu.

Timea was tested at Mathematics & Sciences College Heathland, where she was in 7th grade, and her parents received the results in March: 162 IQ points. An IQ of 140 is already regarded as brilliant. The first stage featured 40 7th grade pupils and 50 12th grade students.

“Seven kids were approved into the Mensa organization, including the one who passed the most rigorous test,” Florentina Petrescu stated.

From an early age, Timea was able to swiftly collect a huge quantity of knowledge. She started school when she was four years old, knowing just a few words in English that she had learned from her mother.

“The school system in this country is unique. Kindergarten is available until the age of three, and school begins at the age of four. She barely knew a few words of English, but she was proficient after six months. She excels in many fields, but mathematics is her strong suit.

We don’t make her finish her schoolwork. She attends school from 9.00 to 15.00 and brings subjects and lessons. I can assure you that she does not require much preparation for the next day. Everything was completed in half an hour. Her abilities were identified by teachers, who suggested she test her IQ on Mensa.

My kid enjoys reading a lot. At night, he reads. She is enthusiastic about learning about South Korea and Japan. In order to study as much as possible, I began learning solely Japanese and Korean, and I can already read and write in both,” Florentina Petrescu explained.

Timea lives in London with her parents, who promote traditional Romanian cuisine, and it is owing to them that she is able to study. In downtown London, they launched a Romanian restaurant. 10% of international visitors come to test Romanian products. They are served sarmale, stomach soup, or other traditional foods, and they offer Romanian goods.

Timea’s parents claim she intends to study psychology or law at Oxford in the future, and her admission to this prestigious institution is almost certainly already secured.
