Step into the heart of ‘Little House on the Prairie’ with Melissa Gilbert as she unveils Michael Landon’s touching gesture for the cast. 💖 Prepare for a heartwarming journey behind the scenes!
Melissa Gilbert says her friend from “Little House on the Prairie,” Michael Landon, worked extra hard to make everyone happy. She recalls a special memory of him during the holidays. Instead of taking money for announcing the Rose Parade on NBC, he used it to buy Christmas gifts for the cast and crew. He’d wake up early for the parade, sacrificing his New Year’s Eve, just to do this.
She explains that Michael, who played Charles Ingalls, was like a dad to many of them, including her. Her own dad passed away when she was young, and Michael filled that role in her life.
The show, based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books, wouldn’t have happened without Michael. He wrote, directed, and produced it. Melissa believes this reunion is his legacy.
Returning to where they filmed the show brought back lots of memories for Melissa. She feels lucky to have been part of such a significant show.
Being at events like this reminds her how impactful the show was to many people. She feels honored to have been a part of it.
