“I get to rub it in his face,” she joked.
Michelle Rodriguez claims that at least one Fast and Furious family member is jealous of her new job.
Rodriguez will appear in the next Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film, which will be released next year.
Rodriguez told Entertainment Weekly at the San Diego Comic-Con, where the first teaser aired Thursday, that her costar and pal Vin Diesel is envious of her position in the film since he is a huge fan of the fantasy role-playing game.
Rodriguez referred to Diesel, 55, as an “If you’ve ever looked in his closet, he’s got all the accouterments of a Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast,” he said. He applies many of his Dungeon Master methods to filmmaking and production.”
When asked if her co-star was envious, Rodriguez responded, “Yes, it’s fantastic. I get to rub it in his face.”
Diesel’s enthusiasm for the game and the magical world it occupies has been highlighted on several occasions, according to SyFy. According to the source, the actor even penned the preface to the book Thirty Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons.
Diesel joked in an interview with SyFy that he had “never” played the game before revealing his years of knowledge.
“No. I’ve never played D&D. For some reason, they assumed I had been playing D&D for 20 years “He stated. “They assumed I’d spent years playing Barbarians, Witchunters, and The Arcanum. They assumed I played D&D in the 1970s, even though I just had the basic D&D set. They assumed I kept playing D&D until it evolved into Advanced Dungeons and Dragons.”
“I’m into D&D a lot,” he subsequently told the interviewer, according to the source.
In the first trailer for the next film, Chris Pine leads the cast. He assembles a squad comprised of strength (Rodriguez), courage (Regé-Jean Page), and magic (Justice Smith), as well as Sophia Lillis’ extraordinary shape-shifting abilities as an owlbear, one of the most feared predators in the D&D universe.
According to a story description provided by Paramount Pictures, the film follows a “charming thief and a band of unusual heroes as they go on an epic heist to rescue a stolen artifact, but things go horribly awry when they come afoul of the wrong people.”
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves hits cinemas in March 2023.
