Because the animal had suffered greatly, concerned citizens resorted to local volunteers. She was apparently hit by a vehicle. Animal rights activists drove Eileen to the clinic and handed her over to vets.
Her injuries were worse than feared. The animal had a burst bladder and shattered bones that had caused the gastrointestinal injury. The fact that the animal did not die on the spot is quite miraculous.
The vets realized that the prospects were minimal, but they tried everything they could to preserve the unfortunate creature.
The procedure lasted many hours. The animal’s stomach had to be sliced open by veterinarians. The dog could not wake up for a long period after the anesthetic but eventually came to. The physicians performed a fantastic job, and now everything rested on Eileen’s shoulders…
The dog couldn’t even stand up on its own for the first few days following the procedure. Her breathing was problematic, therefore she was placed in an oxygen box. But Eileen quickly recovered.
Due to the stomach procedure, the dog was unable to be fed, thus the animal spent roughly a week on a “hungry” diet.
Every day, Eileen improved a bit more. After preparing a diet for the dog, the physicians decided to allow the poor animal out of the clinic. The animal may now be fed special mild food.
Eileen is now being overexposed to one of the animal rights activists. The dog will take a long time to heal, but her life is now absolutely safe.
