Shakira, who is 47 years old, has announced her new album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), which will be out on March 22. This is her 12th album and her first one in seven years.
She says the album shows how strong she is and how music can help you through tough times. She said, “Writing these songs helped me feel better. Singing them turned my sadness into strength.”
The album has 16 songs, including 8 new ones and some remixes of her old hits like “Music Sessions Vol. 53” with Bizarrap and “TQG” with Karol G.
Shakira won a big award at the MTV Video Music Awards last September for her lifetime achievement in music.
She came back to music after breaking up with her long-time partner Gerard Piqué in June 2022.
She talked about these changes in her life when she got an award at the Latin Women in Music gala. She said, “This year has been tough for me, and I’ve learned a lot about being a woman.”
Shakira also spoke about how important it is for women to love and accept themselves. She said, “We don’t need someone else to make us happy. We should focus on being true to ourselves.”
She also said, “Being real is more important than being perfect, and being true to ourselves matters more than finding someone who loves us.”
