At some point, most of us will have to wear a one-piece swimsuit to the beach instead of a bikini. But Philomena Uerihey is not one of those! She talked about what helps her at 80 looks like a maximum of 50.
“Every morning I wake up with a drive and a desire to live,” says Philomena, a mother of four who will celebrate her 80th birthday in October.
“I have the energy and desire to help others become who they want, and this makes me live on. ”
1. Diet 70-20-10.
70% of the daily diet should be fruits, vegetables, and cereals, 20% – proteins (chicken, fish), and 10% – fats, says Philomena. “It takes a lot of cutting and cooking, but it’s worth it!”
She started running after forty: “My middle daughter received a sports scholarship at school, and when she saw that she needed to run 5 kilometers three times a week, she suggested that I run together. How could I refuse? Then she decided to compete in running such a distance – and won in her state every year from 40 to 75 years old. Philomena believes that a specific goal is necessary to achieve success.
Every day she writes in her diary what and to whom she is grateful. “It helps me keep my mind and body in balance, helps me stay in good shape. When we are grateful to someone, we become more positive and happy, which helps, among other things, to monitor our figure and general well-being.
