Victor Yakovlevich Demidov, a resident of the Belarusian city of Orsha, became a real hero.
One day he heard a plaintive howl while walking along the river. Looking around for the source of the noise, he saw a dog on an ice floe.
She struggled to get out, but the ice was thin, and the dog ended up in the water. The man realized right away that the frozen and terrified dog couldn’t get out.
Then he stripped and dashed on the ice, risking to fall as well. Fortunately, the man was able to pull the dog out – and he was uninjured.
