There are no boundaries and no special conditions for true friendships. This applies not only to people but also to representatives of the fauna. An example of an unusual friendship is the story of Herman the pigeon and Lundy, a Chihuahua puppy.
One day they met and immediately fell in love with each other. It was in a foundation called The Mia Foundation. Its specialists are busy with animals with defects from birth. A dove, for example, does not fly at all, and a chihuahua’s hind legs do not work.
So, after this meeting, a very touching and strong friendship began between the bird and the dog. You will see footage of these relationships on the Web.
According to People, a popular American celebrity magazine, Herman has been living under Sue Rogers, who founded the foundation, for years. He was found in a car dealership, where the bird sat motionless for three days. Rogers received a phone call reporting a flightless pigeon. And Herman was accepted into the fund. Helped him regain his strength. However, he still could not fly. Probably, according to experts, this is the result of infection with a virus or the result of a traumatic brain injury.
The pigeon is taken outside every day so that it can breathe plenty of fresh air.
The pigeon Herman has been living in the fund for several years, and the chihuahua Lundy appeared here this January.
The puppy is still very small. When they brought him here, he was only 28 days old. And he weighed, as Facebook reported, 140 g. But in almost two weeks of living here, he reached a weight of 255 g.
A breeder living in South Carolina called the foundation about Lundy. He could not properly care for a puppy that has special physical needs. Sue Rogers, director of the Animal Relief Foundation, suggests that the Chihuahua’s health problems are due to the fact that his spinal cord is damaged. This means that the baby will need to learn how to move around in a wheelchair. The foundation staff hopes to find a new home for the dog.
The day came when Lundy and Herman saw each other.
Sue was taking care of the dog at the time, and the pigeon was sitting next to her on the couch. Then Rogers thought, why not put the puppy next to the pigeon? And so she did. However, she kept a close eye on what was happening. No one could know how such different animals would behave.
But, being in the same litter, the bird and the dog immediately reached out to each other.
They really enjoyed lying and hugging together.
