“She’s such an amazing person that our chemistry naturally happened on screen,” Leonardo DiCaprio admitted in 1997 of Kate Winslet. And they are still friends!
The couple met on the set of Titanic in 1996. Kate was 21 and Leo was only a year older.
Their second film is Revolutionary Road (2008). In the film, Kate and Leo were a married couple.
Leo was a witness at the wedding of Kate and her 3rd husband. And during the divorce, he even helped to babysit.
Leo received his Oscar in 2016 and Kate was there to support him.
“He is my closest friend in the world. He deserves an award.”
Kate believes that the longevity of their friendship was due to the fact that they never flirted with each other.
Leo loves to work with Kate and they are said to be like “one machine that works great together”.
“I’m not going to tell you what we’re really talking about. Sometimes we quote Titanic back and forth to each other because only we can, and we find it really funny.”
