At 93, Gene Hackman Emerges from Seclusion, Making First Public Appearance in Years
I remember Gene Hackman as a great actor we all loved for many years. But it’s been a while since we heard about him. He retired from acting in 2004, and at 93 years old, he was recently seen in Santa Fe, New Mexico, looking surprisingly healthy.
Gene Hackman has more than 100 acting credits in famous movies like A Bridge Too Far, Enemy of the State, and No Way Out. Born in 1930, he became a Hollywood legend, winning two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, and two BAFTAs in his six-decade career.
After Welcome to Mooseport in 2004, he retired at the age of 74. In a 2009 interview, he revealed health issues and stress as reasons for his decision. He said a stress test showed his heart wasn’t in good shape.
Gene Hackman has been rarely seen lately, but recent pictures show him doing yard work and going to a gas station. It’s good to see him in good shape after all these years. I used to enjoy watching his movies!
