Halle Berry is reportedly relieved that her nearly eight-year-long divorce from Olivier Martinez has come to a close, as per an informed source.
Announcements were made on August 23 that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez, both aged 57, have successfully resolved their divorce proceedings and reached agreements on custody matters. They will jointly care for their 9-year-old son, Maceo. The source suggests that the Academy Award-winning actress is enthusiastic about moving on and believes the divorce process dragged on for too long.
In addition to their joint custody arrangement, Halle Berry has agreed to provide Olivier Martinez with a monthly child support payment of $8,000. Furthermore, she will allocate 4.3% of her earnings exceeding $2,000,000 to him. Additionally, Berry will cover her son’s private school expenses, including tuition fees, uniforms, school supplies, and any extracurricular activities.
The source explained that Berry wanted everything to be finished and settled.
Berry and Martinez first filed for divorce in October 2015 after being married for two years. At the time, they said they were parting ways with love and respect, focusing on what was best for their son. They asked for privacy during that tough time.
Back in December 2016, a judge legally recognized Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez as single individuals. Nevertheless, they persisted in ongoing discussions regarding custody and financial support matters. It’s worth noting that Berry is also a mother to her 15-year-old daughter, Nahla Ariela, whom she shares with her former boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry.
Halle Berry has been in a relationship with singer-songwriter Van Hunt since 2020. To mark Berry’s birthday on August 14, Van Hunt shared several photos on Instagram and expressed his affection by writing, “This is the woman I love. Happy birthday, my love.” Berry responded with gratitude in a comment, saying, “Thank you, Van, for always allowing me to be my true self and loving me unconditionally!”
