Osiris, a three-year-old shepherd trained as a lifeguard and therapist, had no friends until the Riff the rat came into her life. What happened next and how they became friends, read on.
It’s all about the people, of course. The little Riff came to the owners of Osiris as a baby, still blind, and he had to be fed from a pipette. Looking at the care of the baby, the big dog involuntarily remembered his childhood – he was also abandoned as a kitten, left to die in a cold parking lot, where his current owners found him. Some feelings superimposed on others and Osiris realized what he had been missing all this time: a true friend who had experienced a similar problem and who could understand him. Because he will need support himself, and the little Riff needed it oh so much.
As a therapy dog, Osiris has repeatedly participated in the treatment of people and even other animals. But these were patients whom he met according to the schedule and not of his own free will, but by doctor’s prescription. The dog, on the other hand, needed a true soul mate, and although many were skeptical at first, the little rat and the big dog managed to make friends!
The riff is a decorative rat, he will not grow big and will be able to fit in the mouth of Osiris entirely. But he will not harm him, even by accident, because the dog is very kind to his friend. Does not indulge, but protects from all adversity, as a part of himself. One has only to look into his eyes and everything becomes clear. These are friends forever!
