UPS driver, who forms a bond with a pit bull while on a delivery route, adopts him (video)

Love this, thank you for taking him in.

Contrary to the depictions in many comedic skits and cartoons, delivery people frequently become friends with the animals they come into contact with on a regular basis.

The UPS Dogs Facebook page highlights these relationships by telling tales of delivery drivers who not only carry items but also give these dogs cookies and toys.

One driver, Katie Newhouser, has a unique relationship with one dog in particular but loves all the dogs she encounters on her daily route.

When this adorable dog lost his home, their relationship would come in handy. Katie, who not only likes spending time with the dogs on her delivery route but also has three dogs of her own, connected particularly well with a pit bull by the name of Leo.

“He would always start barking as I pulled into the condo complex……When I stopped, he would always hop into my truck, Katie said in a Facebook post.

Katie even struck up a friendship with Leo’s owner Tina, who revealed to her that her son had discovered Leo as a puppy who need bottle feeding.

Katie learned some heartbreaking information.

They (Tina and Leo) “were very, very close and did everything together,” said Katie. “Dogs, in my opinion, don’t forget people they have been that close to.”

When Tina, Leo’s mother and Katie’s friend, passed away in July 2017, Katie learned heartbreaking news. After the shock wore off, she started to worry about Leo’s future and contacted Tina’s son Cannon to ask if he would look after Leo. Cannon, a Marine on active service, told her he couldn’t because of that.

He is inseparable from his brother Moose.

Katie decided to adopt Leo even though she already had three dogs.

He undoubtedly found it perplexing at first, but he has adjusted nicely, said Katie. He and his brother Moose are devoted to one another. It took Bailey a bit to warm up, but now they truly play. The mood completely altered after Leo entered the home.

Thousands of comments congratulating Katie for announcing Leo’s new residence on the UPS Dogs Facebook page flooded in after her post.

Leo has a new home with someone who adores him, even though he misses his mother Tina. It’s understandable why this adorable dog makes everyone he sees happy.
